July 16, 2014 - Dawson's Landing

July 15 & 16 – Dawson’s Landing

Just as we pulled out of Fury Cove, we spotted a mom and baby humpback whale (thanks to a forewarning from Northern Ranger who had spotted them on their way out) ….

FINALLY ..... A WHALE !!

It was a beautiful trip up Darby Channel to Dawson’s Landing …..

No sooner had we docked, but in comes a helicopter .... Talk about front row seats !!

They were doing a forestry audit and stopped in for fuel .... then off again ....

After docking and getting organized, a group again, went off  in Talbot's Grady, to catch dinner !!!
(That is a very fast, very cool tender !!! )

We ended up with 3 beautiful crab …. plus the prawns and salmon from earlier, which made a FABULOUS evening’s SEAFOOD feast on the back deck ….

Our "hunter / gatherers" ... rightly chuffed with themselves !!

One of the galley gals ... (who should also be pretty chuffed with herself as dinner was AMAZING !!)

And on top of celebrating a glorious seafood dinner, we also toasted the sale of Talbot's other boat, Malahide !!!!  The champagne was flowing .....

But .... enough about us !!

Dawson's Landing is a quaint place to refuel, restock and regroup !!

Our crew for this leg of the adventure left out of Dawson's Landing on a Grumman Goose.
We said our goodbyes to Val and Ken & Dina ....

and off they flew .....

We had SOOOOO much fun and we were sorry to see them leave.
They were GREAT crew !!
