July 21-23, 2014 - Shearwater

July 21 -23 , 2014 – Shearwater

We arrived in Shearwater to provision and pick up dad, who joined us on the 22nd ….  As we rounded the island to pull into the marina, who should we see but Nordhavn’s flagship 120’ ship AURORA !!!

Cameron nearly fainted…..
It may look "little" in this photo, but trust me ... its NOT LITTLE .....

We look forward to seeing Bob and Diane again when we get back home, and going on our promised tour of their fabulous ship ...

Shearwater is a beautiful and popular resort and a stopping off place for most everyone travelling up this far.  They have a number of lodges for people staying up here to fish, as well as a well-stocked grocery store, laundry mat, gift store and a great restaurant / pub !!!

There are a number of boats here …. Many of them with dogs on board.  We are surrounded by 5 yellow labs, including a 6 month old female … I am in HEAVEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dad arrived and we are looking forward to spending a week with him !!

The guys went fishing yesterday to a HIGHLY recommended spot – Idol Point – but only managed to get ONE fish …. The fishing has been a bit spotty, but we are hoping over the next few days, to catch a bunch more.
The plan is to move today, to more remote bays (with NO internet coverage !!) and do some fishing and return to Shearwater to drop Dad off for his flight home on Sunday.

Lets hope for GOOD FISHING .....
