Hayden turns 5 today …. Where does the time go???????? 

And where are his grandparents??  Travelling through Hayden Passage, of course !!

On to Tofino ..... looking forward to BRI GUY'S arrival on Thursday ....

 

 

We arrived safely in Tofino early afternoon ... wound our way through sandbars, crab traps, kayakers and red and green buoys - not an easy entrance into Tofino !!  But we are safely ensconced on E dock at the 4th Street Public Docks.  Its a bit shallow here .... we will have 3 1/2' of water under us at low tide (3 am)  ....  but it should be enough to float the boat !!!  :-?

 

Tofino is such a cool little town ... great shops, great provisioning and great people watching.

Docked right next to us was a 22' powerboat owned by a very interesting young man, Sam Landman who, as it turns out, had met Cameron down in Anacortes and they have emailed through the Nordhavn Dreamers site.   He too, is working his way around Vancouver Island and had arrived in Tofino a day or so ahead of us.  Imagine his surprise, and ours,  when we docked right next to him !!

 

We invited him for dinner  and had a GREAT chat about all his adventures.  He is only 23 years old and has been boating most of his life.  He took his boat to Alaska last year (YIKES !!) is doing Vancouver Island this year .... AND he works for Waggoner Cruising Guide, updating the boaters cruising "bible" !!!  VERY interesting and VERY nice young man !   Delightful evening .... he headed off about 8pm to get to the Broken Group before dark.

 

We may see Sam again in the Broken Group as that is where he will be over the next week or two and where we are heading after we get Brian, tomorrow.... who knows !?!?!?
